Ctrl-clicking always puts the item text in, but the item link only works when you have the item equipped or in your inventory.

So when you are looting and ctrl-click only the item name is inserted in messages. But if you are starting bidding on a BoE item that is in your bags the item link will appear in messages.

Can this be fixed so that the item link always appears?

This is still not working in 2.9b

I am not a LUA expert but I beleive I have found the cause of the problem.

When you SHIFT-Click an item, WebDKP has a helper routine that uses the itemlink to call a WOW API to retreive the item name. This name is placed in the Bidding window text box.

Now when you click "Start Bidding" the item name from the text box is used to call the same WOW API. Problem is when you use the item name to call this routine it can only return the itemlink when you have the item equipped or in your inventory.

So the bidding annoucements only contain the itemlink when item is in your inventory (BoE items, gems from Mag etc).

Trick would be to store the original itemlink in a hidden field on the bidding screen and use this when retrieving item information for the bidding announcements.

Or is there someway to use a global variable to store it ?

Does this help at all Zedd ?

Hi Dob,

Did you develop a fix for this bug?

If so would it be possible for me to patch my version of webDKP?

Thankyou.
